Revalidation Support

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
Whilst most nurses and midwives have access to an appropriate person or line manager to conduct reflective discussions and confirmer meetings, not all practitioners have access to such a person. Similarly, many healthcare organisations or agencies may have insufficient compliance knowledge or resources to carry out this obligation as an employer.
To be able to revalidate, nurses and midwives require access to someone who can act in the capacity of a line manager to undertake both reflective discussions and Confirmer meetings.
NURSSU offers both a Reflective Discussion and Confirmation Service for nurses who do not have access to an appropriate person or Line Manager by the nature of their varied practice.
Our independent practitioners are registered NMC senior nurses who will objectively review and verify completed evidence portfolios, to ensure that your nursing professionals are compliant with the statutory requirements of NMC Revalidation prior to submission.
Pre-Employment Services
We can provide a network of senior clinicians trained to conduct pre-employment interviews and language checks for all healthcare professionals in accordance with the requirements of the new NHS Agency Supply Framework.
Annual Appraisals
Our supply network of senior clinicians trained to conduct annual appraisals for all healthcare professionals in accordance with the requirements of the new NHS Agency Supply Framework.
Reflective Discussions
We can supply an independent registered nurse practitioner to act in the capacity of an appropriate person to support your nursing practitioners with their Reflective Discussions.
Confirmer Service
The NMC expect nurses and midwives to seek confirmation from an appropriate person. An appropriate person is a Line Manager, an NMC Registered Nurse or Midwife, or a Regulated Healthcare Professional.
Agency nurses may work across a variety of practice settings, including hospitals, clinics and general practice and they may find it difficult to identify an appropriate person or Line Manager to act as your confirmer.
We will allocate an independent NMC registered nurse to act in the capacity of an appropriate person for your organisation, who can undertake Confirmer meetings with your nurses, maintaining your obligations as an employer and compliance to the NMC legislation.
